Did you know that just about every product in the mint line can be stitched on home embroidery machines? Yes, even those pesky nap rolls can be stitched by thinking a little bit outside the sewing box. For tubular embroidery machines, stitching on the pocket of the nap roll is a snap using Fast Frames 5 x 7 hoop (or the 6 x 5 Gator Clamp). Just adhere sticky stabilizer to the Fast Frames, slide into the pocket and pin in place. (I, once again, use my Grandmother's 1940s ironing board with the narrow end to center the pocket on the frame. It also looks as if I need to take some Bestine to the frame!)

Then take the nap roll and slide the frame onto the machine, ensuring that the bobbin case is inserted into the pocket. Pull sides of nap roll down out of embroidery field.
Then let 'er rip...uh, bad choice of words....*sew*.

The finished product!

For home machines, try embroidering on the blanket. I would suggest stitching on the bottom righthand corner so that the threads underneath don't scratch the little one's skin when they are napping. Use a lightweight tear-away stabilizer on the back and a water soluble topping. Slide hoop onto machine and stitch.

When done stitching, carefully remove backing. Flip over and remove as much of the topping as possible, then spray with Magic Sizing to remove any remaining topping.
Another option is to adhere an applique patch to the outside of the pocket as Amy from The Flossy Fitzy showed us at July Market. Amy stitched out an applique patch using a heavyweight water soluble stablizer on the back of the applique fabric and several layers of cutaway which she floated under the hoop. She adhered the patch to the pocket using E-6000 epoxy. It looks incredible!
