Peggy Daubenspeck of Wisconsin. She's going through an incredibly challenging time. I've never met her but from what I've heard & read, she's an amazing woman. You know we all celebrate strong, courageous moms & women here at Mint. If there was anyone who ever needed our support, Peggy is it. This mom is going through an extremely difficult time-she needs our thoughts and prayers. And here's why:
Her husband Kirk was involved in a very serious accident, which has resulted in a very difficult and long period of recovery. You can read about it on FB (search Pray for Kirk Daubenspeck) or www.kirkdaubenspeck.com. Peggy and Kirk have a 1-year old and they are expecting another baby this year. As you can imagine--they all need your prayers.
A little about Kirk...he is a former classmate of mine, so I know first-hand that he's a strong guy. I remember him being very strong-willed and tough as steel. If you're a hockey fan, you may have heard his name before; he's a record-holding hockey goalie from U. of Wisconsin and still maintains the record for most saves as the goalie for the Badgers; he was drafted by the NHL, played for the Indianapolis Ice, South Carolina Stingrays, and the Hershey Bears after college. Recovery from this accident may be the toughest challenge for him yet--although we all know he can do it. But I cannot imagine the strength and support that Peggy will need during these weeks or months.
If you have a chance, please check out the Pray For Kirk Daubenspeck site on FB and see if there isn't anything you can offer in support to Peggy or his family. A kind thought, even maybe a small donation to their medical fund. It's going to be a long recovery for this family. You know I NEVER ask for this sort of thing--AND I AM ANTI-FB--but this is a special case. I know they would appreciate any encouraging thoughts or support you'd like to send their way. Send them, send them.
I wouldn't ask if I didn't think all of my Mint sisters weren't so awesome. Hug your kids, hug your husbands, hug your friends & family.
