Behold the Snack Square a.k.a. Cube of Cuteness

Oh, how I love the Snack Square! It was the very first product that Suzi Homemaker carried from mint and it remains near and dear to me. There is nothing more darling nor versatile than the Snack Square (also known as the Cube of Cuteness). My three children (ages 4, 6 and 9) all carry their lunches in it every day. (I am amazed that the 4-year-old always eats more than the other two!) They also use the bags to store everything from their Nintendo DS game cartridges to Polly Pockets (see "Snack Square Use" under blog tab).

Before I purchased my commercial machine, I used to embroider on the top of the Snack Square exclusively using sticky stabilizer as trying to manipulate the front panel on to the hoop for my Designer SE proved to be challenging, tho it can be done (but not without bloodshed in my sewing room!).

After purchasing my commercial machine, I continued to stitch on the top of the bag not only because that is what is visible when packaging for customers, but also because hooping the front of the bag (using 4 x 4 hoop) was a pain.  That is until I purchased the Fast Frames system.

Fast Frames makes stitching on just about anything a breeze, and really opened up some other possibilities as far as the Snack Square was concerned. Now, customers can choose where they want the name or monogram placed. Or they can add designs (for an additional fee) on either the top or front of the bag.

This one was stitched using the 4 x 4 hoop with sticky stabilizer.

And this one was stitched using the 4 x 4 hoop for the top of the bag and Fast Frames for the design on the front.

I know there are a lot of customers who also swear by a clamp system.  Whichever system you may use--either Fast Frames, clamps or regular hoops--the Snack Square provides the cutest little canvas for displaying your thread art!
